From The Pines To The Palms

ALOHA

So, Eric and I are back from my early birthday trip to Hawaii. Maui to be specific. And aside from some sunburns, and some rainy weather. Its true that Maui is a place like no other. From endless clear blue water snorkeling, to a drive from sea level to 10,000 feet up to the top of a volcano. There is so much to experience!! So excited to check this off the bucket list. Wonder where are next travels will take us.

Climbing in Colorado

Colorado!! What is there to say? Its a state full of so much history when it comes to climbing. Having been very thankful for the place we get to call home in the eastern sierras. It was time to venture out and see what mother nature has to offer. And, colorado was a great place to start our adventure this year. Eric I decided that this was the year to really pursue our love of traveling to new places to climb.
Climbing has taught us so much more than many may think. Its not just a build of strength but also a build of character. There is nothing like the humbling feeling when you stand beside these massive rock creatures. Look up to them and feel so small but yet so powerful at the end of your last pitch.
I had my first lead of a multi pitch climb when we spent the day in Boulder. And I was truly humbled. If it wasn't for Eric by my side during this experience I don't know if it wouldn't have been as rewarding as it was. Multi pitch climbing is very much new to me. And it has allowed me to experience climbing in a whole new way. So excited for where our next trip will take us. PERU HERE WE COME.........

Yosemite... it's like Disneyland for adults

CLICK HERE TO SEE PICTURES OF OUR TRIP THIS LAST WINTER

Yosemite, CA. Eric and I are truly blessed to have this national park in backyard. An hour drive from Mammoth and we are in place with so much history, it still amazes me every time I visit. So what is there to do in this massive valley of awesomness? Everything your little heart desires! Hence the statement "It's like Disneyland for adults." A place where rock climbing started. A land where hippy rock climbers could be free with the hands of mother nature. An adventure where John Muir trail hikers get to walk in the path where John Muir himself once stood. Also endless amounts of day hikes for a weekend trip with your family and friends. I could go on and on about what Yosemite has to offer. But again its a place you will only truly feel the beauty once you stand beside the walls of El Cap, Climb to the peak of Half Dome, or feel the tingle of the mist coming off of Yosemite Falls. It's a place like no other. A foundation to preserving the beauty of nature for generations to come

Camping, exploring, and eating awesome food was coming to an end. After two weeks on the road we had one last trek through northern California to end the trip right. CAL I FOR N IA.....what is there to say? It is state where pretty much anything is possible. It is just a matter of what you love to do or want to experience. Eric and I were born and raised here. Your typical adventure seekers. From climbing rocks, to sunsets surfs, to crack of dawn hikes to snowboard the perfect eastern sierra powder. It is all here right in our grasp. So if you have yet to take part in a trip here or if you're stuck in rut where you may currently live in California. Take a drive, you will be amazed on where even a four hour drive can take you......

The Oregon Coast

CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT OUR DRIVE ALONG THE OREGON COAST

There is not much you can say about the beauty of the Oregon coast. It is something you must experience. To have no problem spending a day getting lost in the vast amount of trees that engulf the coast of the bluest waters I have yet to see ( in the USA)  But the Oregon coast is so much more than that. Rustic small beach towns were a plenty, seafood so rich with flavor, and the best of all salt water taffy shops still exist. :) For me growing up in San Pedro, CA. One thing I will always remember is the Taffy shop in Ports O Call. And to see these shops in Oregon brought back so many memories. I suggest one take the drive down the Oregon coast. In the end, it's a beauty that you say to mother nature "I thank you."

"Leave the climbing for the Monkeys"

CLICK HERE TO SEE US WANDER THROUGH SMITH ROCK PARK IN OREGON

Eric and I decided to head to Smith Rock in Oregon this summer for a few days of climbing. This state park is unreal! The campsite is great as well. For 5 bucks a night you get to sleep on the cliffs of the park. There we met some awesome local climbers who showed us around. We thank you! And the best perk of all for this campsite is warm showers. Oregon is a beautiful state. Somewhere where we need to do much more wandering.....

Climbing in Alabama Hills, Ca

CLICK HERE TO SEE US ROCK CLIMBING IN ALABAMA HILLS CA

Alabama hills home to the Flinstones :) many iconic hollywood movies, and climbing bums. One of the many ways to keep in shape for the winter season is with rock climbing. And one of the meccas in the climbing sport is just a short drive from Lone Pine, CA (home to Mt. Whtiney) One thing Eric and I love about this area is the vast amount of opportunity to progress in the sport, and the views aren't too bad either. Hope you enjoy the pictures. There is so much history in those hills. A must stop on the 395 wether you climb or not.
